How Do You Get a Court Order for Someone Who Needs Rehab?
Question by Heather: How do you get a court order for someone who needs rehab?
Children services have been called because an 11 year old is in the household. But this person is using drugs and refuses to get help. I think she’s bipolar but I don’t have the money to pay for rehab so I figured is there any way to get a court order for a state funded rehab program.

The only a court will order rehab is if she is convicted of a crime. If you want to help her–get her arrested. You know she does drugs so call the cops on her when you know she has drugs in the house. the judge will order her to rehab instead of jail.

Virginia Organizing Project Hold Drug Court Forum in Lee County – LEE COUNTY, VA- With local jail costs crippling the Lee County budget, The Virginia Organizing Project held a forum Friday to support the use of drug courts as an alternative to the existing expensive and ineffective justice and treatment system. Advocates from the judiciary, prosecution, defense bar, probation, law enforcement, mental health, social service, and treatment communities gathered at the Mountain Empire Community College to educate the public on the benefit of Drug Courts and to encourage state Delegate Terry Kilgore to support the funding of a Drug Court in Lee County. Drug Courts are widely supported among the criminal justice and substance abuse treatment communities as an effective alternative to jail time and probation. Rufus Bryant is a Recovery Coach with Lee County Behavioral Health and is a strong supporter of Drug Courts.
