Answer by Nurse Jacki The Narcanon program has helped a great many people achieve sobriety. They do not offer a medically supervised detoxification or use medications for withdrawal symptoms, so you may want to go through a medical detox prior to entering a Narcanon program. They are based on the works of L Ron Hubbard, so if you are not open to Scientology, it may not be the program for you or your loved one. They are excellent at teaching the addicted person to confront-as opposed to avoiding uncomfortable situations. People tend to have very strong feelings either in favor of or against the Narcanon program, but I have neither. They have a good success rate and are a good alternative to the typical 12 step programs.
Answer by Steven Narconon is a dangerous Scientologist indoctrination organization disguised as a drug rehab chain. Narconon Arrowhead, their facility in Oklahoma, is getting sued for the deaths of 3 patients there.
Narconon Georgia is also getting sued for the death of another patient, a Marine Corp veteran.
Narconon is so dangerous that Narconon Trois Rivieres in Quebec was shut down by the authorities for health and safety law violations. Look up David Love, a former employee who witnessed everything that goes on in Narconon. According to him, Narconon’s high “success rate” is really it’s failure rate.
